MAC: Annual Networking Event Brought Chemists Together

Posted by David Gottfried on March 30, 2017 at 1:50 PM

The Annual Minority Affairs Committee (MAC) Networking Event was held at Park Tavern on March 7th. The event was well-attended by about 30 people. Attendees included chemists and chemical engineers employed at The Coca-Cola Company, Georgia-Pacific, Georgia Tech, Corporate Environmental Risk Management, a non-profit promoting STEM education, community college instructors, entrepreneurs, retired chemists, independent contractors, graduate and undergraduate students from Georgia Tech and more. The event allowed old friends to reconnect and new business connections to be made. The environment and facilities fostered great networking among local area chemists from all backgrounds. We look forward to seeing everyone again at next year’s networking event.

2017 Theme

The Georgia Local Section of the ACS has selected the theme, A Year of Giving: Catalyzing Chemistry via Community, for its 2017 programming. A Year of Giving refers to the outreach and education of technical and non-technical audiences about the importance of chemists and chemistry via the coupling of commonplace and technical chemistry ideas. We hope you will join and support us in this critical mission.
