What does Chemistry have to do with sport? Find out at the YCC event on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 ACS Program-in-Box event, Chemistry of Sports: Smarter, Safer, Faster. The event will be held on Georgia Tech’s campus in the Molecular Science and Engineering Building, Room 3201. Minority Affairs Committee

The Minority Affairs Committee of the Georgia Section of the American Chemical Society is pleased to announce the opening of nominations for the 2017 Percy Julian Award. This award will be given to two high school seniors in recognition of scholastic achievement and leadership ability. Each recipient will receive a $250 book scholarship and a one-year (student) membership in ACS.

The application deadline is April 12, 2017. Recipients of the Award will be notified by May 4, 2017. Awards ...

Women Chemists Committee

The Women Chemists Committee (WCC) is ready for 2017! WCC’s mission is “to be leaders in attracting, developing, promoting, and advocating for women in the chemical sciences in order to positively impact society and the profession.” The first meeting of the year is set for Saturday, February 11th at Agnes Scott College – Bullock Science Center Atrium, Building 17 from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm. 2017 Theme

The Georgia Local Section of the ACS has selected the theme, A Year of Giving: Catalyzing Chemistry via Community, for its 2017 programming. A Year of Giving refers to the outreach and education of technical and non-technical audiences about the importance of chemists and chemistry via the coupling of commonplace and technical chemistry ideas. We hope you will join and support us in this critical mission.
